Hydroderm Skincare Line In Review

By

Hydroderm™ Overview

Hydroderm™ Age-Defying Renewal Moisturizer is one product in a multi-product Age-Defying System developed by Hydroderm™. The moisturizers is claimed to help restore suppleness, enhance skin tone, and reduce the look of fine lines and other visible signs of aging. The formula for the Renewal Moisturizer uses some valuable ingredients that have been shown to effectively nourish aging skin and rebuild the skin's moisture content, but it is evident from the advertising that Hydroderm™ is counting on the consumer to purchase the entire line of their products to be used in the fight against aging skin; and that is no small financial commitment if you plan to use the products everyday.

Ingredients at a Glance

Hyaluronic Acid, Acetyl Hexapeptide, and Aloe Vera Gel

Ingredients in Focus

The first two ingredients in the Hydroderm Age-Defying Renewal Moisturizer are getting much attention in skincare because of the valuable benefits they offer to an anti-aging cream. However, in the Hydroderm™ formula they do not combine them with Matrixyl 3000, which could improve the regeneration of the skin. Nevertheless, Hyaluronic Acid is claimed by the manufacturer to help the skin to replenish, increase and retain moisture and the benefit of Acetyl Hexapeptide is said to relax the tension in the skin and diminish the look of wrinkles. To add to the benefit of the anti-aging cream you will have to purchase another product by Hydroderm to replace the collagen in your skin. It does not appear that Hydroderm™ carries a cream that contains Matrixyl 3000, so you may have to look elsewhere for that purchase.

Positives

• Contains Hyaluronic Acid and Acetyl Hexapeptide

Negatives

• May not contain Collagen or Matrixyl 3000
• Other product purchases are required to complete the skin care system.

Final Thoughts

Hydroderm™ has it right when they claim their Renewal Moisturizer can provide restoration to skin’s firmness and pliancy, and that it may aid in reducing the look of fine lines and wrinkles. The claim it can brighten the skin is debatable, but we’ll let that one go. However, the formula only starts the job of replenishment because they do not include collagen to supplement the loss of collagen in the cells as we age. There are products that contain all these anti-aging ingredients—Collagen, Hyaluronic Acid and Acetyl Hexapeptide (otherwise referred to as Argireline), and Matrixyl 3000—in one formula, which will save time and money.
