Youthology® Overview
Youthology®, as seen on TV, promises to deliver to consumers the “science of younger looking skin.” The company has focused on wrinkle-elimination, though it provides various other products for skin renewal and youthful appearance enhancement: a lip smoother, a collagen repairing mask, day and nighttime nourishers, and a radiance mask.
The bulk of the website is devoted, however, to the 90 Second Wrinkle Removing Eye Serum™. This product can be purchased along with a package deal containing the day/nighttime nourishers and a radiance mask. The serum is affordable and supposedly works within 90 seconds to decrease the appearance of your age by 10 years. But is this a reasonable promise?
In the end, the idea that one can look 10 years younger in 90 seconds is little more than fanciful thinking. And when the Youthology® website uses young women to demonstrate the supposed effects of its products, things seem that much more underhanded.
Ingredients at a Glance
But the worst thing about Youthology® is the almost complete lack of ingredients information on the company website. Who knows what these products contain? And if we don’t know, should we be putting them on our skin? The only ingredients information is the advertisement of an Active Rejuvatin™ - the mysterious engine running the unbelievable 90 Second Wrinkle Removing Eye Serum™.
Ingredients in Focus
Active Rejuvatin™ is uselessly described as a “clinically optimized suspension complex” – whatever that might be. Likely, it is simply Youthology’s® attempt to emphasize a “scientific” approach to younger looking skin. But just because things sound “scientific” doesn’t mean much.
Active Rejuvatin™ is said to mimic the action of a facelift by stretching wrinkles taut. Simply apply the serum, and the Active Rejuvatin™ will fill in lines and wrinkles, dry, and then stretch things out for a smoother appearance that supposedly lasts 8 hours.
If we compare this product characterization to those of other companies, the first and most important thing to notice is that Youthology® has told us little to nothing about its product. It has simply engaged in more advertisement.
Positives
• Attractive presentation.
• Before/after photos are better than nothing.
Negatives
• Ageist and sexist marketing suggesting women must be young-looking to be beautiful.
• No ingredients information posted.
• Vague advertising is no way to convince consumers.
Final Thoughts
Youthology® leaves much to be desired. The company’s products do not contain Hyaluronic Acid, Argireline or Matrixyl 3000, and so do not stand up to other, more effective products that do. Furthermore, Youthology® is shrouded in suspicion and disappointment, which can only mean one thing: shop elsewhere. There are better products available.
